Children crave being alone with Mom.
And they want to have fun.
Why not plan a fun date with my child…a memory maker
When my children were young I would place a note on the calendar (I always used a calendar to keep us all sane and on track) for a “Special Day” for each child. On that day I would take that child alone for a day or most of a day and we would do things they enjoyed. It would never involve shopping or going to buy a toy. It was always something different. One day I took my son to the sea wall in Port Arthur and we walked along and talked about why it was there. Other times we might go to a park. Whatever we did it always involved one-on-one conversation. My children are now in their late thirties and I can tell you those simple “Special Days” made a difference.
