Our weather has been cold and wet this week in southeast Texas. It’s times like this I enjoy sitting with a book and a mug of hot cocoa. Somehow I feel less guilty doing nothing when the weather is dreary. It gives be an excuse to chill.
I wonder why we, especially in the U.S., have so much trouble being still?
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10, is a verse we are familiar with and yet we so seldom are still. Or quiet.
Eckart Tolle said, “Stillness is the language God speaks. Everything else is a bad translation.”
Take some time. Be still. And listen.
The SMORE mug is a limited edition. Only SMORE Board Members and one other mom have one. This one is for you if you enter the drawing by posting a reply to how you find stillness in your life.
Winner will be announced January 15th. Only entries from U.S. and moms who haven’t won in last 6 months, please.

I am still unexpectedly when I walk out on my deck to a sunrise that just is so beautiful my jaw drops. I am still when I walk in the fields of my pastures and watch a glorious sunset painted by my Father’s hand. If I weren’t so far from the ocean it would be sitting by the water watching and hearing the waves come in. This year my goal is to find a quiet spot on the nearby river to watch and listen to the water flow by. Patti

I love this, Patti. Maybe someday you can come visit and we can drive to the seashore together.
I will mail the mug to you soon. Thanks for always being a part of this ministry.
Thank you so much for my new morning coffee mug. And for your continuing love and support for single moms!
So glad you like it. Please think of us when you have that morning coffee and enjoy your fabulous view. I know this is a major time of transition for you. May God bless you in all that you do.
